Unique to living soils.  Family of web-like symbiotic soil funghi that connect plants to one another in a network, facilitating communication and resource exchange. They also provide roots with nutrients as negatively charged ions (minerals with an extra electron) in return for carbohydrates.  The mineral charge they provide is perceivable in wine as the tingling feel of minerality, which only presents in wines from organic and biodynamic vineyards.
